SURRENDER

When we are in a state of surrender, we are no longer attached to the outcome of our actions. We trust that whatever is meant to be will happen without us having to control it - leading to a deeper sense of peace within. By relinquishing our need to micromanage all aspects of life, we become more mindful and aware of what is happening in the here and now. We learn to accept that some situations may not align with our expectations, but that it’s all part of the divine plan. Universe has its own way of offering us with what we need, and our job is to stay open to whatever comes.

The idea of surrendering may seem like being weak and throwing in the towel, but it’s actually quite the opposite; it's about having faith that whatever happens is meant to be. It's about trusting the process, even when it takes us on a winding road.

It can be difficult for us to accept that surrendering to a higher power can be the way forward, as it can appear to go against the grain of what we have been taught throughout our lives. We are encouraged to strive and persist through hardship, with our mindsets being conditioned to believe that life is a constant battle and that any progress achieved will take a great amount of effort. As a result, surrendering to a higher power can be an alien concept to grasp as it can feel like giving up and ceasing effort to make any real changes. However, sometimes the best way forward is to to let go of our need to manage everything and simply accept what is.

Making the conscious decision to surrender and accept our current circumstances can be a daunting task, requiring immense effort to shift our mindset, but if we have the courage to relinquish our hold on control - the results may be truly transformative. When we accept our reality as it is, we can become less anxious and overwhelmed, freeing up our minds and better face the challenges life throws at us. We acknowledge that there may be a plan that far exceeds our own vision or understanding of our present circumstance or life.

Surrender is not a weakness, it is a strength. It takes tremendous strength to surrender life to the supreme – to the cosmic unfolding.

Surrendering is in the heart of your spiritual journey

Think about a moment in your life where you feel stuck, like you're putting in so much effort and still not achieving the outcomes that you want. What would it be like to relax your grip on the outcome and have faith that everything will fall into place when the moment is right?

How does this make you feel?

Maybe there is an inner sense of calm, or maybe it is allowing you to see the bigger picture and new potential options start to emerge in your mind. Perhaps the underlying tension in your body that you may not have noticed before starts to dissipate, allowing for a deeper feeling of peace within.

When you're feeling exhausted from pushing yourself too much, take a moment to ponder what fears might be hidden underneath your need for control and if surrendering would allow you more freedom. I find this reflection to be really useful; It adds more depth to the situation or difficulty, and it helps me move away from fear towards feelings of trust and contentment.

Surrendering …

…has been a powerful tool for me to gain a different perspective on life. Ceasing the strive to always reach for something or control the outcome and rather being open to whatever is, has enabled me to be more mindful in the present moment and to trust in the knowing that certain things are beyond my power.

If you are constantly striving for more and pushing yourself too hard, there will be no space to experience gratitude and abundance. Being receptive and allowing things to happen is a skill that can be practiced and improved upon. It helps to believe in a friendly universe—one that is supporting you at every turn so that you don’t have to worry yourself over the details.

Our minds are clouded with fear and judgement

In a world that is constantly pushing us to achieve more and do better, it is easy to fall into the trap of attempting to control things that are beyond our power. This need for control is rooted in fear and attachment to results that we believe are ideal for ourselves - even though we might not always have all the answers. By trying to control every aspect of our lives, fighting against the current, we are actually holding ourselves back from feeling true contentment.

Albert Einstein famous quote “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics”, serves as a reminder to reflect on the deeper implications of our thoughts and actions. If we don't truly feel that good things can come to us without exerting too much effort, we tend to put in a lot of hard work and energy into the pursuit of our goals. Unfortunately, this type of energy that we emit consists of deficiency and fearfulness, which the universe perceives and answers by generating more barriers between us and what we wish to achieve. Pushing too hard for something can actually make it harder to attain.

Sometimes our journey through life can seem like an endless wander in search for the ultimate bliss. We so often get stuck in the habit of chasing after happiness, striving for something we think will make us feel better. But no matter how far we venture or how much we acquire, the joy and happiness that we seek remains out of reach, trapping us in an endless loop of discontentment and dissatisfaction. Rather than fighting against the present, release any inner resistance that may be holding you back and surrender to life’s energy as it flows. This will open up a powerful healing energy that moves you towards growth and transformation.
